To Be a Jew is to Give Thanks
We all believe that our children should be grateful for what they have and for what we have provided for them.   Yet, how many of us actually time out of our busy lives to really teach our children how to say thank you for what we have been given?   Join Lissa Weinberger from PJ Library as we spend an hour with our kids exploring what it means to be grateful and create a craft that will be a small reminder every day of how fortunate we are.  This program will include a story and craft to take home.

Among the Jewish communities of the world, the Abayudaya of Uganda are unique and so is their music, a tapestry of Jewish prayer and African melodies and rhythms. When he lived in Uganda, Lorne Mallin drummed and sang with the Abayudaya at their main synagogue in the village of Nabugoye Hill. In this session, you will be introduced to the community through a multimedia presentation and then learn to sing their music in Hebrew and Luganda, the main tribal language of Uganda, with the accompaniment of a live band.
